Throwing Caps

​Graduating high school seniors of Caribbean descent on target to graduate in 2026 are encouraged to apply online and submit an essay with name and title at the top of page 1. We also highly encourage students with a documented disability to apply . Up to $1,000 will be awarded!

Choose one of the following prompts and respond in an essay of no more than 500 words:
1. B.A.C.E. Mission & Youth Impact:

How do you plan to cultivate and expand opportunities for young people in your community, inalignment with the B.A.C.E. mission?


2. College, Career & Caribbean Influence:

What are your college and career goals, and how has your Caribbean heritage shaped your ambitions?Discuss why community programs like B.A.C.E. are essential in supporting continued education.


3. Personal Growth:

Describe your personal growth and explain how your Caribbean heritage has shaped — or continues toshape — the person you are today.
 

4. Caribbean Culture & U.S. Adaptation:

How has your Caribbean culture influenced the way you’ve adapted to life in the United States? Reflecton the considerations and adjustments you’ve made while navigating American culture.

Graduating high school seniors of Caribbean descent on target to graduate in 2026 are encouraged to check our website periodically after this fall for updates regarding the next competition. We also highly encourage students with a documented disability to apply.
